I'm a youtube rookie for sure, but the experience of uploading 3 video's to the site (see raccoon love tragedy below) was tedious, arduous, long and annoying.
I think it all comes down to a status bar - tell me how far along the upload is so I can decide how to spend the rest of my time.
But maybe they just don't want to... and I can respect not wanting to do stuff.
