It seems that Google is getting ready to bring the users into the development process by including us in some of the new features earlier with gmail labs. This is a engineers chance to build out new funky features during their 20% time.
Although the official gmail blog is sorrily under-updated (?) and has no reference to this, thanks to techcrunch for keeping the rest of us in the loop.
It's all good google. I think this just might tip the balance and make google a successful company.
